Esa Aalto, MSc
Sport Psychology Consultant
My journey in sport psychology was sparked by my own experiences as an athlete. I know all too well the challenges of low self-confidence, self-criticism, perfectionism, and performance anxiety.
These challenges, along with a lack of support and knowledge about psychological training, hindered my development and limited my career, highlighting for me personally the need for psychological support in sport.
Although I eventually managed to improve these deficiencies on my own and achieve success in my career, such as being part of teams that won the Welsh League Cup and a silver medal in the Finnish Premier League, question marks remained. For example, I’ve wondered how much higher personal level I could have achieved had I received the right support and knowledge at the right time?
This experience inspired me to become a sport psychology consultant, helping athletes overcome psychological challenges and reach their highest potential.
In addition to my sport career, I have dedicated years to studying psychology, particularly sport psychology, to equip myself with the necessary knowledge and expertise to guide athletes in their psychological development.
I strongly believe that training psychological skills is essential for performance improvement. To achieve the best results, psychological skills, like any other skills, must be learned and developed.
As a sport psychology consultant, I am here to provide you with the support and guidance I wish I had during my career.
Let’s work together to improve the psychological side of your performance and help you perform at your best.
